So. I've decided that I need to update this journal more, so I've decided to do a form of NaNoWriMo, except with journal entries. Which means I am going to try my hardest to post every day for the next month. So far, I haven't gotten off to a really good start, but... it will be good for me. And you guys will know far more about me than you ever wanted to by the time this is finished.

But in order to do this, I'll need prompts. Questions. A fic prompt of semi-drabble know, that sort of thing. So I open this post to interested parties--ask me a question you've always wanted me to answer, or give me a character you know I'd write and a single-word prompt, or even just ask what I think of a character, and I'll dedicate a post to it. Which means we may have canon spoilers--oh well. But spoilers for anything recent will be well-marked. Feel free to ask anything (and any number of things) that you want to--after all, I need at least 20 of these, since I doubt I'll have something noteworthy to post every day. I promise I'll get to it by 12/15--most likely earlier. Also, feel free to comment at any point during the month, and I'll get to your question. An open forum, if you will.

Since I have no prompts as of now, I give you Homecoming (and by extension, School Spirit). It's Homecoming week here at Furman, and I find myself only mildly enthused. Ra ra, let's cheer on our football team, who's up against a formidable opponent (meaning that chances are, the game's not gonna go so well). Oh, yay, let's build a stationary float! Let's get all hyped up and spirited and celebrate that we go to school here! For some reason, I've never been much for school spirit. Never. And I'm really not sure why. Well, possibly because it was hard for me to get into cheering for the Mules or the Yellow Jackets--those aren't inspiring mascots, really. Spirit Week was fun, but only because I was pointing and mentally laughing with people who were making total idiots of themselves. It's strange, that even though I've had to go to an absurdly large number of pep rallies and attempt to pep up the crowd, I've never been that "pepped."

Possibly a reason I don't get very spirited is that I don't like football. More than don't like it--I detest it. Loathe it with a passion. Think it's the most boring game known to man. And Spirit Week is supposed to get you all riled up for... a football game. Not just a football game, but a football game I have to show up at because I like marching band. It's...bothersome. Now, basketball band I adore, and I can imagine getting fired up for a basketball game, but football? Don't hold your breath. So I really don't want to put forth the effort to act like I like football when it's not that interesting for me.

Probably another reason for not really getting into Spirit Week is that fall is notoriously a busy time for me. Like this fall, I've got marching band, Singers, a job (10 hours a week), and overloading course-wise. I don't have time to breathe, much less plan out elaborate schemes to show that I have school spirit. I enjoy watching, but most times I don't even have time for that. It's... exhausting. And usually by the time Christmas break rolls around, I spend it sleeping, simply because I'm so mentally exhausted that I can't do anything but sleep (and, of course, read 'fic). Fall is when I get back into the swing of things, and spring is when I have the motivation to act like a crazy person. I love fall, it's beautiful--but it's eternally busy.

Also, how am I to support a football team that's nothing to write home about? Give me a good football team, and I'll act like I like the sport. But most of the teams I've had to watch have been anywhere from bad to average--nothing spectacular. Extraordinariness is amazing to watch, even if you don't fully understand the depth of skill one needs to execute it.

But yeah. In conclusion: I'm doing NaNoWriMo, and attempting to make 50,000 words (maybe next year I'll try for coherence). Give me prompts/questions/characters to analyze. School spirit =/= my thing. ::shrugs:: Any ideas on how to get amped for the homecoming game?

I think there is actually an informal, unofficial National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) going in November, too! So you can proudly declare yourself to be a NaBloPoMo'er...or something. Hee!

For a post idea, tell a funny story from your childhood.

Hmmm. God, I've had school on the brain for so long that I can't even think of something to ask or request. Damn...

Well, how about this for starters: I want to hear about the first fictional character you fangirled over. And, potentially, what that character is like compared to the ones you fangirl now.

Here, child. Winner analysis -- or ramble from his POV. Either one works.

"More than ten million prescription medications are filled every year. Write about one of them." <-- That I would like to see in relation to Ouran. But really, the concept is interesting enough for anything. (... For future reference. Kyouya, mental prescription list. You said it, not me.)

Comment branch = your fault

Write from the point-of-view of someone who committed a murder today. Do not mention the murder.

^ That, from Fai's perspective? Or could be my imaginiation running away with me.

A blonde's biggest secret -- and how quickly it was shared.

Oh look, I'm not choosing your fandom for you.

I would also like to know your opinion(s) on filesharing/spreading music between friends. But that's more a personal "Ooh, tell me, tell me!" point.

Describe three males -- one you love, one you tolerate, one you hate. Don't give names, try not to give excessive physical description, and don't tell which is which. Imply it. (Hey, I think it's interesting.)

100 reasons for literacy. Yes, I mean 100. No, you're not allowed to only give boring reasons. Yes, that's why I said so many. :P

A situation where a memory changed the outcome of a situation. I'm seeing Tsubasa, but this can fit just about anywhere. (Malfoi? Goodness, pick a fandom, you.)

Favorite color; why?
Least favorite color; why?

What color do you think is most ignored by the populace as a whole? How can we right this enormous wrong?

Five reasons you (or a character) fit into the male stereotype & five for a female fit. Again, I think it's fun. /swt

A blonde convention? ::shot:: Seriously, though. A conversation between more than two of your blondes. Preferably the whole lot, but that might get ridiculous. And yes, Justin is part of that group.

That could be cool as a dialogue-only story?

Have a corollary:
A meeting between their Others. (AKA the second half of the 'pairs involving the blondes. Come on, you know Others fits.)

Write a letter to someone, telling them all the things you could never say face-to-face. Bonus points if it's someone on eljay, but that kind of defeats the purpose. [Fictional characters can be the object of this exercise.]

Pick a theme song for each of your favorite characters -- and explain it, prz.
