A meme. Of course. XD. But first I shall start off with saying Happy New Year to all reading this right now! Gosh. I have to re-evaluate all my food labels now, because when I bought them, I was like "Oh, look, it's good until 2008! That's a long way away, so I should buy it!" And now it's not. In fact, it's here. But anywayz, on to the memeage~~!

1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, your favorite kind of sandwich, or maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not.
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.
5. When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions.

1) Favorite absolute-crack pairing? If you even have one. If not, make something up that's just as cracktastic. Favorite canon crack pairing? Millay and Lloyd, hands down. Favorite pairing I can see for the lulz? Eriol/Yamazaki from CCS.

2) Where do you want to live/see yourself living in the future? Want to live? Ideally, New York City. Or just outside of it. I want... things to be close again. Within easy walking distance. And worthwhile. I miss that. See myself living? With my parents, and then prolly less than an hour away from them.

3) Because I've never asked -- what's your favorite animal? XD Any kind of jungle cat. I'm not really particular. I just love feline grace. XD

4) If you were in dear Chell's (Portal) position, do you think you would be.... still alive? ::shot:: Was that a joke? Haha, fat chance. No, really, I'm far too trusting to be still alive. Assuming I possessed the brain power to make it past the majority of the test chambers, I'd still believe there was cake at the end of the line, which would be my downfall. And I would die betrayed~~~.

5) Favorite musical instrument to listen to? It depends on what's being played--I adore virtuosic classical piano. Also adore jazz trombone and saxophone. And to cheat, voice--there's so much expression you can tell from a vocalist, and it's fascinating.

1. Top 5 pairings that aren't HP related. That's not fair when I've just started reading HP fic again~~~. If we're going for strictly pairings, Suzaku/Lelouch, Shaoran/Sakura (in any 'verse--their love is so... OTP-ish), Doumeki/Watanuki, Kyouya/Tamaki, and Hatsuharu/Rin (from Furuba). If not strictly pairing, stick a Haruhi in with the Host Club kids. Kuro/Fai's canon, but is about on par with Touya/Yuki--cute and there, but no real substance. (And yes, I am aware that those two pairings have almost nothing in common other than mangaka and series. But Kuro/Fai doesn't resonate like the other five do. It's still in the top ten, though. ::nod::)

2. If you were forced to either stop reading actual novels (also anything written on paper), or anything on a computer screen, which would it be? Definitely anything written on paper, and not just because I can cheat and ask loyal friends to scan things for me. You can find tremendous things online if you look, and I find that I rarely read print stuff anymore, simply because I'm captivated by the things people post for free. It's thought-provoking, and amazing, and all that stuff. I would miss reading new canons for fic, but...::shrug:: Fandom (and yes, I'm lumping every fandom I'm in together) has utterly awed me.

3. Why do you like Lelouch? Long answer, if you please. Part of the reason why I fangirl Lelouch is that he's brilliant. Utterly brilliant. And manipulative--which, in turn, requires brilliance. He has such a fundamental understanding of people and their motivations that he can achieve his own ends without making other people feel used. That is something I respect, though I don't aspire to it. Also, his dramatic nature. It's fun to watch. His megalomania and arrogance are tolerable because he's got results to back it up. At certain points as I was watching the series, I just had to step back and look at what he, almost single-handedly, set into motion. He's such a dynamic force, and all of this is cloaked in what appears to be apathy. He's pretty much the ultimate Slytherin--or what I view as what Slytherin house aims to be. And he's pretty. And he makes it easy to ship with people. He's not a perfect character, by any means, but he's such a... driving, dynamic force wrapped in an outwardly intellectual geek that it makes me happy--it actually feels fitting to have the series revolve around him. (...Thanks. Now I feel like the Britannian reporter fanboy...)

4. What is one fandom you wish you could be more active in? ::frown:: I know you said one fandom, but really, I wish I could be more active in all of my anime fandoms. Particularly XXXHolic and Ouran. With those two, I developed ships so easily, I want to see them written. And I know there's no lack of stuff written for either (well, there's not much Kyouya/Tamaki/Haruhi, which bothers me, seeing as how that's my main ship for the series), but I don't know what/who's good, and I rarely have the chance to go through and read bad fic. So I'm an elitist. ::shrug:: I usually only read what people tell me is good. Potter fandom, that's not a problem, since... there's a kajillion of everything, including rec lists (and even rec lists for rec lists), but... I wish there was a fairly comprehensive rec list set for Holic and Ouran.

5. What book should everyone read? (Bible doesn't count, love, nor any other "reference" books [ie: dictionary, thesaurus, textbook of any kind]) Ooh, you insult me--I don't think everyone should read the Bible--in fact, I think to hold that opinion is insulting to so many different religions. This is... a really hard question. I have a hard enough time telling people I know what they should read--universals are even harder. Mainly, I think the value doesn't come just from reading books, but from discussing them. So, it never really matters what the source material is--it's what you make of it that matters. Does that make sense? So I don't have a book that everyone should read--but I think the idea of everyone reading the same book and discussing it worldwide would invite ideas and innovation like never seen before. ::shrug::

...Now to find some Kyouya icons, and get the journal set up. Lots to do tomorrow. ::whines:: Why is my vacation over?
