So. The last 4 days have been interesting. Just poking my head in to say that I'm okay--for the most part, Madison County was miraculously spared. We were just without power for a few days. Quite a bit of the county is still without power. ::lives near a fire station and City Hall, so thinks she's somehow higher on a priority list somewhere:: But we're all grateful to be alive and well.

Final exams are now optional, so I think my semester's over. And people have been rebuilding around here since Thursday morning. Life will be back to normal soonish.

And I really hope that it isn't my fate to be part of a FEMA-declared disaster once every decade. 10 years ago I was living in NY for 9/11, and now the deadliest tornadoes to hit Alabama... I hope I'm in the clear in 2021. Really. Otherwise I'm going to start noticing a pattern.

But yes, I am fine, in case y'all were worried. ::nod::

P.S., 90+ hours without power kind of sucks. But at least the weather was nice.

Aw, 2021 won't matter. The world's ending in 2012, remember? :P

♥ ::hugs tight:: So glad I was able to get in touch with you.

Impossible! I've already met my major disaster quota for the decade!

::clings:: Glad I was able to tell you I was okay. Communications were spotty for a while. Still don't think I have a land line.

I escaped to Atlanta for the weekend, and even though my parents house got their power back yesterday, I'm waiting till tomorrow to return so that things will calm down a bit.

Glad to know you're safe.

Thank God you're alright! I keep hearing horror stories from Alabama, and the videos are just awful. I myself got caught in the bad one a few weeks ago in NC...I was out driving and luckily was with a friend who knew where there was an underground parking deck. A friend of mine lost her apartment. It's really sad :(
Just wait for May21st...A random so-called-Christian group is saying "it's guaranteed" that the world will end...*sigh*
Stay safe...

Oh, I heard about the ones in NC--my uncle's apartment complex got hit, but luckily he was okay. Sad to hear your friend lost her apartment.

There will always be people saying the world's going to end. ::sigh:: I think I'll just wait and see what actually happens, and just keep living my life day-to-day. ::nod::

Will do! Am making sure to keep off the streets as much as I can. Just glad the traffic lights have come back on now, so we don't have to worry as much about wrecks making more of a mess of things. ::nod::
