::pokes power connection::
May. 1st, 2011 08:56 pmSo. The last 4 days have been interesting. Just poking my head in to say that I'm okay--for the most part, Madison County was miraculously spared. We were just without power for a few days. Quite a bit of the county is still without power. ::lives near a fire station and City Hall, so thinks she's somehow higher on a priority list somewhere:: But we're all grateful to be alive and well.
Final exams are now optional, so I think my semester's over. And people have been rebuilding around here since Thursday morning. Life will be back to normal soonish.
And I really hope that it isn't my fate to be part of a FEMA-declared disaster once every decade. 10 years ago I was living in NY for 9/11, and now the deadliest tornadoes to hit Alabama... I hope I'm in the clear in 2021. Really. Otherwise I'm going to start noticing a pattern.
But yes, I am fine, in case y'all were worried. ::nod::
P.S., 90+ hours without power kind of sucks. But at least the weather was nice.
